RECALL: Nap Nanny Sleep Positioners

July 30, 2010 at 8:18 pm (Toys R Us, Uncategorized) (, , )

The Nap Nanny Sleep Positioner is being recalled:

Infants can fall or hang off the side of the Nap Nanny®, even while the harness appears to be properly secured. If the Nap Nanny® is placed inside a crib, play yard or confined area, the infant can fall out of the Nap Nanny® and become entrapped and suffocate. If the Nap Nanny® is placed on a table, countertop, or other elevated surface and a child falls out the side, it poses the risk of serious head injury. The CPSC is investigating a report of a 4 month old female who died in a Nap Nanny® that was being used in a crib. Consumers should always use the Nap Nanny® on the floor. Consumers should never use the product on a table or elevated surface or in a crib or play yard.

Consumers who own a Nap Nanny® without a “D” ring securing the cover to the foam should contact the firm to receive an $80 coupon towards the purchase of a new Nap Nanny® with free shipping.

All other Nap Nanny® customers should visit the firm’s Web site to view an important instructional video on the proper use of the Nap Nanny® and to obtain new product instructions and warnings.

For more information, contact Nap Nanny® toll-free at (888) 240-4282 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm’s web site at
