About: Elmer’s adhesives are acid-free and archival safe – the perfect adhesive for those projects you want to last! They are available in a variety of sizes and formulas, and each product is designed for easy use and top performance. X-ACTO Designer Series products are a new spin on traditional crafting tools – so you can craft with precision and style!

Pros: Wow! These are fantastic crafting products! I recently got married and we’re a DIY kinda couple, so we made invitations, favor tags, signs, rsvp cards, and tons more! I wish I had these crafting items then! It would’ve made my life (and the hubby’s!) a lot easier. I had no idea that X-ACTO had decorative edge scissors – I just assumed they only had straight edge razors. But they actually have an entire line of crafting products!

Cons: I wasn’t super impressed with the Corner Rounder Punch. It didn’t work on plain paper. It worked fine with the cardstock, but it was kind of tough to punch, so this was my least favorite tool

Learn More: Check out the memory keeping aisle of Walmart where you can find the new collection of essential crafting products from Elmer’s CraftBond and X-Acto.

Elmer’s Crafters website offers information about products as well as tips, techniques and crafting projects.

X-ACTO‘s website offers an overview of all their products.

Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary sample pack of Elmer’s CraftBond Adhesives and X-ACTO cutting tools. This sample was provided by BuzzAgent. This is not a paid post and my opinions are honest and remain my own.

What: Exotic gifts and paper made partially out of elephant poo! (Yup, poo!) Mr. Ellie Pooh’s paper products are 100% recycled. They are made up of 50% fiber  from elephant dung and 50% post consumer paper. There are no toxic chemicals used in our paper making process. Natural vegetative binding agents, along with water-soluble salt dyes for coloring are used. Mr. Ellie Pooh’s papers are handmade, acid free and as organic as it gets. Mr. Ellie Pooh’s eco-friendly elephant dung paper and cardstock are a crafters dream come true. It is like it was born for stamping, scrapbooking and letter press. Each sheet is handmade with a texture and feel like no other paper on the market. It’s easy to tear and emboss. The colors are vivid, and because no harsh chemicals are used in the paper-making process, the sheets are acid free and pH neutral.

Company Mission: Elephants in Sri Lanka are being killed at an alarming rate. Humans are encroaching on elephant habitats and cutting down trees. When elephants come looking for food, they are shot and killed. Mr. Ellie Pooh LLC’s mission is to is to reduce some of the Human/Elephant conflict that is ongoing by opening handmade paper facilities in rural areas, training local villagers to make paper and hiring artisans to embellish their goods. Mr. Ellie Pooh believes that this newly created industry can directly contribute to the local economy and hopes that such an initiative will self educate the villagers into living, working and respecting the elephant by having them look at the elephants more as an asset instead of as a threat.

Review: I used this paper to make my wedding invitations 😉 We wanted to use recycled / handmade paper and were going for an untraditional type of invitation. I ordered samples of a few different kind of paper, and Mr. Ellie Pooh was by far the best! Maybe I’m biased because I knew it was also for a good cause, but I love this stuff! It has a wonderful rustic quality to it, but it is super easy to work with. You can even run it through your ink jet printer! We used it for the background of our actual invitation, we printed maps for an insert, and we even used scraps for tags for our favors. This paper is versatile, beautiful and environmentally friendly! What more could you want? Oh right, a great price! Well its got that too!

FREEBIE: Udder Cover for nursing mothers

September 20, 2010 at 11:28 am (Coupons & Promo Codes, Freebies, Reviews) (, , , , )

I love freebies! And this is a  good one! Enter promo code Family2010 for a free $32 nursing cover at (if you’re not currently breastfeeding they make great baby shower and holiday gifts)! All you pay is the shipping cost.

Go to, click on “Shop Now”, select the product you would like (they also have 3 piece gift sets available with this promotion) and you will automatically be directed to the center of the page where you can enter in the promo code! Type in Family2010 and it will show the products available with this offer. *Bonus: You can use the code more than once – you just have to open a new browser/window to do so!

This promotion gives you a $32.00 discount off your total order no matter what you put in your cart!

I personally have one of these, and I must say – I loved it! I purchased it through one of these offers in 2009 when I was still nursing my daughter, and my only regret is that I didn’t purchase it earlier! I don’t remember exactly how much the shipping was, but I’m sure it was under $10. So it was cheaper than the “cheap” nursing cover I had purchased at the store, and it was way better. It stayed put. It was large enough to cover everything I needed covered. And it has a fantastic plastic piece at the top that creates an opening, allowing mommy to see baby without everyone else seeing what’s going on. Plus they come in stylish fabrics 🙂

Review: She’s Out of My League

March 11, 2010 at 11:24 am (Reviews) (, )

For a change of pace here at The Lucky Bandit, I’m going to do a short movie review. The SO and I went to see She’s Out of My League the other night, since I was able to snag some free tickets from gofobo. She’s Out of My League is directed by Jim Field Smith; stars Jay Baruchel, Alice Eve, T.J. Miller, Mike Vogel, and Nate Torrence; and is rated R for language and sexual content.

First, for full disclosure, I normally do NOT like romantic comedies! But since it was free – and hey, if its free its for me! – we figured we’d give it a try. Well, I’m really glad we did! While it was a standard, formulaic, predictable romcom, it was funny. Laugh out loud funny at some points. It isn’t a deep, thoughtful movie. But it doesn’t pretend to be. Its just a good time. Its the standard geek meets hottie story-line. Hottie falls for geek. No one can believe it. Hottie and geek hit rough patch like everyone predicted. Hottie and geek beat all odds and end up together in the end. You can check out the trailer HERE.

Gofobo: I had never used gofobo before, and I wanted to try it out before I posted anything. I like to try out the sites I post about before I post about them. The entire process worked very well. It seemed too good to be true, but this is definitely a freebie that delivered! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for new gofobo offers and let you all know when I find one!

Review: L’OREAL Lash Boosting Power

January 27, 2010 at 11:03 pm (Reviews) (, , , )

Product: L’Oréal Paris® Lash Boosting Serum and L’Oréal Paris® Lash Boosting Black Mascara

About: Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum should be applied daily under mascara and at night to bare lashes to transform your natural lashes. Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara is a great new product for longer, lusher lashes! It is a two step process: step 1, use lash boosting primer to boost lash condition; and step 2, use the mascara topcoat to coat and lengthen lashes instantly.

Pros: I definitely don’t have naturally luscious lashes, but this product made my lashes look great! I can’t say if it actually caused me to have more eyelashes (I also didn’t use it everyday), but the mascara definitely made my lashes appear thicker and fuller.

Cons: For best results, you’re supposed to use the mascara daily with L’Oréal Paris® Lash Boosting Serum, but I don’t use makeup everyday. If used properly, the Serum should result in more lashes in four weeks.

Learn More: Visit to learn more about L’Oréal Paris® Lash Boosting products.

Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary L’Oreal sample to review for this post. This sample was provided by BuzzAgent. This is not a paid post and my opinions are honest and remain my own.
